Yay! With the help of some friends at work, I managed to set up CVS in Cygwin so that I don't have to enter my ssh password every time I want to do something! yay!
(I'll just have to be more careful with my CVS commands now, lest I do something dangerous on accident ^^)
Cygwin 0wnZ - I use it at work all the time, but I'm a little surprised you use it. What do [HTML_REMOVED]you[HTML_REMOVED] use it for?
Everything. :) CVS, grep, find, python... UNIX is simply more productive. I even have XFree86 installed in Cygwin (http://xfree.cygwin.com/) with several X apps built for it. And sometimes I just ssh to work and use my home machine to display the apps.
I don't use Linux at home because it's too much of a pain. I'd rather have a UNIX shell and wide application and hardware support. ;)
Sweetness....I didn't realize you were such the *nix-ian. If I had enough disk space I'd install XFree86 for Cygwin on my work machine, but alas our machines are crap. :'-(
Yeah, I use big iron Linux and IRIX machines at work. :) It's really cool. In fact, I'm getting a little tired of Windows... I maybe want a MacOS X machine... (there is one here at work and it's damn fun to play with)
Plus, ZSNES in Linux works just as well as the Windows version. :)
Oh yeah, I have WindowMaker built for Cygwin/XFree86, and it's really nice. :) Kind of slow though...
I too would enjoy a MacOS X machine. I just wish Mac machines weren't so freakin expensive.
BTW: I like the new icon...I've been thinking of changing mine as well. Maybe several different pictures that vary depending on what I'm doing or how I'm feeling at the time of the post.
Yeah, they're expensive... but SGI machines are expensive too. I'm willing to pay for quality.
Plan on purchasing an SGI workstation?
No, even though I'd love one. :D They have a lot at work and they're rather quality.
