It's not weird Laura. If you had had your genitals mutilated as a child for an anachronistic, outdated, pseudo-religious yet undefined reasons, you might wish for what you're supposed to have. As that isn't really an option, you might hope it for your kids.
Unless you think removing what will be several square inches of the most sensitive erogenous zone on the male body seems relevant still today. 2000 years ago you could get infections and perhaps die I suppose. Today, we have soap and water which I'm sure works just super.
