Cheap Books
Oh yeah! I forgot about the used bookstore! Pella has a cute little used bookstore just outside of the town square, and apparently it's doing very well. Laura and I stopped by and I picked up a copy of Stranger in a Strange Land for $1.50 (it's kinda beat up) and Cryptonomicon for $7.95 (it's in very good condition). When I was buying Cryptonomicon, the owner of the store said he had just gotten it the day before, and he knew it wasn't going to last long... So now I have more stuff to read, and I'm glad the bookstore is doing well.
Yay! Stranger! ;D
Your recommendation is one of the reasons I got it. That and everyone saying that both Stephenson and Heinlein are great writers.
If you go there in the summer, say hi to my sister.
[HTML_REMOVED]Stranger in a Strange Land[HTML_REMOVED] - I've got that book..but it's in a [HTML_REMOVED]very[HTML_REMOVED] beat up condition. I need to read it again -- it's been FOREVER
When did you read it last?
Who is your sister?
My sister is Angela. She graduated in 2001. The past few summers, she has been working in the book store.
Oh, cool. I know her. :)
Sometime in high school...maybe 9th or 10th grade?
Whoa, I know you... Angela goes to UNI with me. :)
Heh. I'm on my second copy of Stranger. My first one fell apart, bad. (It was my mom's copy from the late 60's or so.) My new copy is a library binding hardback, instead of a softback, too. Hopefully it'll last a bit longer.
Heh..me too - it was Dad's copy from before I was a gleam in his eye...
Ah, weird. I have no idea who you are. :)
She's my sister.
