I miss Laura already! She's flying to Florida for a week (lucky). I'm almost done with Final Fantasy X. Excellent game. Been thinking about starting FF3 or FF2 afterwards. Perhaps I'll just wait for FF Origins... or start Chrono Chross... too many decisions. :) Saw the Half-Life 2 gameplay trailer (600 MB!!). It looks AMAZING. Much, much better than Unreal 2 and DOOM 3 combined. Definitely worth getting. Modern computer graphics are super cool. I'm learning 3ds max, and it's so pathetically easy to create state-of-the-art models from just a few years ago. Max is totally amazing, and now I understand why it's a staple across the game industry. I'll have to look into Maya next... but for now I'll stick with 3ds. The other day I found out the average salary for game developers hovers somewhere around $60,000 or $65,000 per year. Compared to other types of engineering, that surprised me as being a little bit low... Perhaps it will increase when initiatives like Serious Games catch on. And wow. I just realized that modern processors are getting close to being an order of magnitude faster than mine. Also: OH. I just figured out why an order of magnitude is usually 10, but 2 when dealing with computers. (Herrr herrr, Chad is SMRRRT!)
