RSIGuard Update
So I've been using RSIGuard for a while now. The stretches and breaks actually do help a fair amount. It's good to just get up and move around. However, I've noticed something even more profound. It gives you a sense of time, even when in the programming zone where time normally flies by. You'd think that being forced to get up and walk around for ten minutes every half hour would make you less productive. In reality, it makes you more productive. Stepping away and thinking for a bit lets you regroup and reschedule your plans. You may realize that the minute issue you're focusing on is really irrelevant, and you can just skip it to work on the bigger picture. Forced breaks make you sit down and really _think_ instead of being in automatic typing mode.
Overall, RSIGuard is a great program. I recommend it to everyone, even those without RSI issues (yet).
You should come down to Vermeer sometime on a workday and see Dad lead the required office safety stretches. It's a real treat...
