I went grocery shopping for the first time in Menlo Park last night and almost cried. 1) A box of Cheerios is $5! How can Cheerios be more expensive in different areas of the country? 2) Safeway gouges you by doubling the price of most things if you don't have a Safeway Club Card. 3) No meat counter?!?! What is this, California or something? And the only bratwurst they have is the crappy Johnson brand! 4) The only thing that is cheaper here than in Ames is alcohol, which is sometimes a third as expensive (?!?!). 5) And on the way out, I saw that the gas I need for the Cadillac is $3.17 a gallon now. ;_;
