Nice to hear that! You are probably following the path of your Personal Legend.

Always move to a new place with only clothes and a laptop. Why drag nedless clutter around?

Yeah, who needs beds or books or furniture? :P

Books live in libraries.
Furniture can be procured rather easily on the cheap locally, unless you care about style.
Many inexpensive bed options also exist.
These are all just general guidelines for short term living. Of course, if you plan on permanently moving somewhere, you should set up house and all, but I was under the impression that your CA move was of questionable duration. This impression may, of course, be erroneous.
I only brought my Bjarne bjook, personally.

I don't have a ton of stuff, but I have enough that I'm not about to throw it all away, especially since the cost of replacing it all probably exceeds the cost of moving it. Plus that's just wasteful.
(And NOTHING is cheap here.)

That said, I do see your point. I just don't see how I could have done what you did.

If you move as much as I do, you start loathing your belongings.
I now hold very techno-spartan ideals when it comes to materialism. When I own a house, the house shall be my repository of goods. Until then, I save much time, effort, and money by living very sparsely.

I know what you mean. I've moved 4 times in the last 5 years. Sometimes I feel like I should just save myself the hassle and sell it all but the bare-bones.
